Maya isn’t like most puppies in the way that she was born without paws on all four legs, but she is just as happy-go-lucky as most canines her age. Thanks to the assistance provided by her caretaker Kit, she receives plenty of love and can now even walk with the aid of a customized wheelchair.
Bored Panda relays that Maya, a three-year-old Siberian husky, was born in Thailand without paws. Walking was nearly impossible, and the pup also had issues with her hips. Fortunately, she found a best friend and long-term caretaker in Kit, who was looking for a puppy around the same time Maya’s story was posted on Facebook.
Says Kit:
“At that time I was looking for a puppy when I found a Facebook post from a shelter that there is a puppy up for adoption. It was mentioned that she had congenital abnormalities, no paws on all four legs.”
Though not every day is a walk in the park, Kit is incredibly glad to have adopted Maya. Together, they’ve overcome a number of odds. Maya is “frisky and strong,” according to Kit, and “likes to play with a ball, spend time with her puppy friend Mamon and loves sleeping.”
Heartening is one word that can be used to describe the pair’s friendship. Others agree, for a Facebook page dedicated to Maya has garnered over 50,000 followers!
