Being aware of one’s food choices is just as important as being up-to-date with the latest political issues. Unfortunately the majority of the world is unaware of just how important one’s food choices are. Consuming high-nutrient, unprocessed fare has the ability to assist the body in naturally healing itself, but the majority of the world commonly reaches for low-nutrient, highly refined, and acidic food options.

It’s very easy to break this cycle, however. Setting aside a portion of time to create wholesome, healthy food choices at home can drastically improve your health in the long run, and actually help you feel better in the present!

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350F. Grease muffin pan and set aside. (Coconut oil is a great high-heat oil option to grease the inside of muffin tins).

2)  Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together. In another bowl, cream mashed banana with applesauce and sugar. Add in almond milk, vanilla, zucchini and any other optional add-ins you might like such as vegan chocolate chips or chopped raw walnuts. Stir until evenly combined.
