Have you ever misspelled the address of a famous website like Facebook or Craigslist and all of a sudden a popup with a warning sign “Please call this number as soon as possible” appears?
Have you ever tried to call one of those numbers? Jack decided that it was time to give one of these companies a call to have a little bit of fun.
It goes through to what sounds like someone in a call center that would like to assist with your “issue” but all they are really interested in is to “remote connect” to the computer to steal your personal data.
It seems that most victims are older people that do not often work on computers.
There is now a dedicated /r/scamslayers/ sub on Reddit to hunt down these scamming companies.
Please share this with your friends and family so that they do not become victims!
UPDATE: After two hours of publishing this video the number of the company featured in the video was disconnected.
