Ground Zero Of Coronavirus – Wuhan City Is A “Zombieland” As People Collapse On The Streets And Hospital Corridors Are Flooded With The Infected

LOCAL AUTHORITIES DELETING POSTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Washington Post has reported that Wuhan Railway deleted a post on social media that mentioned 300,000 people leaving the city last January 15.

There have been suspicions that official posts are being deleted so as to hide the real extent of the outbreak to the public.

China has already stopped all Lunar New Year celebrations with concerns that public events could be the cause of the virus spreading even fasdter.

REFUSAL TO TEST PATIENTS

There have also been stories regarding medics in Wuhan that failed to test patients who showed signs of the illness these last few weeks.

Kyle Hui shared to New York Times that even if his stepmother clearly showed all symptoms, the doctors refused to have her tested for the virus. She passed away last January 15 and her death certificate stated that the cause of death was “severe pneumonia,” rather than coronavirus.

WORSE EPIDEMIC THAN SARS

Dr. Yi said that the coronavirus is 10 times worse than SARS.

“I have experienced so much and never felt scared. Most (viruses) are controllable, but this time I am scared,” he said.

The doctor said that he had to escape from Wuhan yesterday after seeing the “jaw dropping” lack of safety measures that are being enforced by the local authorities.

PUBLIC GATHERINGS ARE NOW BANNED

The capital Beijing, and other major cities have now followed suit and banned all public gatherings during the Lunar New Year, but is it a little too late?

Xiao, 26, a primary school teacher in Wuhan, told The Guardian that: “When I saw the news when I woke up, I felt like I was going to go crazy. This is a little too late now. The government’s measures are not enough.”

Another shared: “It’s been a month since the first case was discovered and only now do they think of closing the city? This Wuhan emergency response is a little slow, right???”

Another added: “The government needs to address this. If things become too expensive, people will definitely panic and when people feel unsafe, terrible things happen. Right now people are fighting over supplies, soon they may just be fighting.”

One social media user wrote: “No more going out… so I won’t get sick. Hope Wuhan can get some support soon.”

Cake Liu visited her boyfriend in Wuhan last week and mentioned that everything was normal then, now things have changed so rapidly.

“(My boyfriend) didn’t sleep much yesterday. He disinfected his house and stocked up on instant noodles. He’s not really going out. If he does he wears a mask,” she shared.

CITY ON QUARANTINE

The local airport and trains stations are all on lockdown. Public transport services have also been suspended in nearby cities of Chibi, Xiantao, Zhijiang, Qianjiang, Xianning, Huangshi and Enshi.

Gas stations have been rumoured to have run out of reserves with residents trying to fill their cars and motorcycles in a panic.

Pharmacies have also run out of face masks, residents shared.

An Irish teacher living in Wuhan says the city is a “ghost town,” while he remains locked up in his flat.

“You are allowed out, but there are so many rumours and people are worried, it’s better not to. It’s almost like a ghost town.I have enough water for a few more days, but I will probably have to head out to the shops for food. I have no idea what to expect,” he told RTE Radio’s Morning Ireland.

Huaggang, a city 45 miles away have warned their seven million residents not to leave after there were confirmed cases in their area.

Dr W. Ian Lipkin is a US epidemiologist at Columbia University that advised China and the World Health Organisation in 2002 and 2003 during the SARS epidemic, said infected victims that have already made their way outside Wuhan would continue to spread the disease to different cities and countries.

“The horse is already out of the barn,” he added.
