World Renowned filmmaker George Lucas, known best for his creation of the “Star Wars” series is surprisingly outspoken about social issues.

In a recent interview, Lucas shocked the world by referring to the Disney Corporation as “white slavers.”

During the interview, Lucas said, “They weren’t that keen to have me involved anyway, but if I get in there, I’m just going to cause trouble, because they’re not going to do what I want them to do. And I don’t have the control to do that any more. When you break up with somebody… You have to put it behind you and it’s a very, very, very hard thing to do. These are my kids… All the Star Wars films. I loved them, I created them, I’m very intimately involved in them. I sold them to the white slavers that take these things.”

Lucas was later forced to apologize for his comments, saying that he “misspoke.”

This is actually not the first time he has made controversial comments about society.

Speaking in an interview in 2012, Lucas revealed that the Star Wars series was designed to tell a story about government corruption.

“”Star Wars” has got a very, very elaborate social, emotional, political context that it rests in. But of course, nobody was aware of that. Nobody says, “Oh my gosh.” But if you actually watch the movies, it’s there. And you subliminally get the fact of what happens to you if you’ve got a dysfunctional government that’s corrupt and doesn’t work,” Lucas said.

Also in 2012, Lucas discussed what his version of an “ideal society” would be. He rightfully identifies the fact that our world is ruled by violence, and instead should be based on compassion. Lucas said that this type of society would not be like any of the “isms” that we know today, but something entirely different.

As with many celebrities who dabble in philosophy, his views seem incomplete and he still seems to have an unhealthy amount of faith in the idea of government in general, but his comments are still true and refreshing in this interview.
