Jon Stewart Brilliantly Summarizes The Problem With Caitlyn Jenner’s Media Coverage

In case you missed it, there were far more important stories to be discussed this past week than Bruce – er, Caitlyn – Jenner’s transformation (and you can view those here). But as she is in the media and capturing a lot of attention, we feel it’s only right to bring awareness to the many problems evident in mainstream’s coverage of her debut.

Actually, we’ll let Jon Stewart – who else? – expose the silliness of the world’s obsession with Caitlyn’s aesthetics after she appeared on the July 2015 issue of Vanity Fair.

Not surprisingly, the media – and internet – did not hesitate to comment their opinions on the former Olympian’s new look. But Stewart has the best – and most relevant – commentary as of yet.

Watch Tuesday night’s recap of “The Daily Show” above:

“You see, Caitlyn, when you were a man, we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen,” Stewart said. “But now you’re a woman and your looks are the only thing we care about. Which brings us to phase two of your transition: Comparative Fuckability.”

Stewart also pointed out the societal age discrimination against women, warning Jenner, “You came out at 65, and you’ve got another two years before you become invisible to society. Better make the most of it. Caitlyn Jenner, congratulations. Welcome to being a woman in America.”

Needless to say, Caitlyn didn’t even have to wait a full day before facing the kind of sexist objectification all women know too well.
