I'd like to recommend the novel Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Basically, it is about a gorilla discussing the crazy ways of the human race with a man. I know this sounds stupid at first, but this book fundamentally changed my view of the world, philosophy and certain events in history. So please, give it a try.
