If you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. That’s what Ra Paulette, an inspired man who spends his days carving northern New Mexico’s sandstone, truly believes and is exampling to the world.

When Ra was asked if he is obsessed with cave digging, his thoughtful response was: “Is a child obsessed with play?” He shared with CBS Sunday Morning News that when you love what you are doing, you are driven to do it all the time. The beautiful work serves as an environmental project, and Ra hopes the transformed caves will inspire people to feel and open up emotionally.

Because Paulette and his ability to transform ordinary sandstone into magnificent art is so intriguing, he was the focus of a documentary called “Cave Digger,” which actually ended up winning an academy award!

Incredibly, Ra does not consider himself an artist. Instead, he simply sees himself as a man expressing his sense of wonder in a passionate way. Regardless, he enjoys every day on this Earth and is a true inspiration for all of those seeking to live life fully and assist others in the process.
