8. Ear Pain

Another symptom of the flu is ear pain, primarily due to the inflammation of the eardrum thanks to the spread of infection coming from the throat. Unknown to many, the ears are connected to the throat by way of the Eustachian tube which serves as a passage of air to relieve pressure from the middle ear. The ear ache can be described as a dull, sometimes sharp or burning pain aggravated by swallowing.
