15. Gastrointestinal Symptoms
Gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea are more common in children that in adults, especially those infected with influenza virus type B. These symptoms need to be addressed immediately as prolonging them may lead to dehydration, a complication that could result in death.
Furthermore, abdominal pain might indicate internal bleeding commonly associated with dengue, a much more sinister viral infection that can present with the same symptoms found in flu patients.
