A dog named Rubio waited outside of a hotel for his favorite human each time she came to the city. Luckily, his persistence paid off.
It was love at first sight for a street dog in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but the flight attendant he hoped to woo -it took her a while before the adoration was reciprocated.
The pup, named Rubio, became infatuated with German flight attendant Olivia Sievers after she offered him some food and affection while walking to her hotel on one of her many trips to the city. Perhaps it was the nicest treatment he had received in a while or maybe he just knew Sievers was a keeper. Whatever it was that drew him to her, Rubio didn’t let up in trying to win the traveler’s affection.
And, as The Dodo relays, his persistence eventually paid off.
The first time the pair met, Sievers had just arrived in Buenos Aires after working a flight. Upon seeing Rubio, she felt compelled to give him some food and a pat. But ever since then, however, he continued to wait for her outside of her hotel every time she came to the city.
“I tried to change my way as I didn’t want him to follow me to the hotel but it was not possible he always followed me so I tried [to wait] one hour but he always watched me and followed me,” Sievers told Noticiero Trece.
The flight attendant even found a home for the dog in Buenos Aires, but he escaped it to return to his favorite human. By that time, Sievers fell in love with the dog. So, she decided to adopt him and transport him to Germany.
It wasn’t an easy feat, as there was plenty of paperwork to fill out, but they managed. And now, Rubio lives a happy life with his human and two other dogs in Germany.
The stray dog from Argentina finally received his happy ending!
