Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren lit into Donald Trump on Monday, denouncing the Republican presidential frontrunner as a "loser".
When Donald Trump first decided to run for President of the United States, it was humorous. When he started spouting sexist and racist rhetoric, most people rolled their eyes because they didn’t think his outdated and brash ideas would ever catch on.
But now that the Republican candidate is a frontrunner in the upcoming elections and has even gained an impressive following, it’s frightening. And, a number of celebrities and activists agree with this sentiment.
Not only did Brandon Stanton of Humans Of New York nearly break the internet with his honest letter to Trump (the most ‘shared’ post in Facebook history), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) recently revealed her thoughts on the business tycoon’s campaign.
In an epic Facebook post, Warren used Trump’s favorite insult, “loser,” against him. She describes his many failed business ventures, like Trump University, and bad debts dogged through bankruptcy. She even draws attention to the fact that he’s so bad at business, he’d have more money if he’d put his entire inheritance into an index fund and left it alone.
Perhaps the most startling – but accurate – accusation is that Trump lashes out against women and people of color because of his own insecurities and the consciousness of his own imperfections.
Finally, she says that the fact that such a loser might become a winner in November should be a wake-up call to everyone.
The Senator then describes everything at stake in the 2016 election, outlining the two dramatically different directions the country could take based on the candidates running for president. Similar to Bernie Sanders, she calls out issues which demand priority, such as Wall Street, healthcare for millions of Americans, the Supreme Court, big corporations and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes, and other concerns…
“The chance to turn our back on the ugliness of hatred, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The chance to be a better people,” she wrote.
Warren then finishes her epic post by comparing Donald Trump to Hitler in a not-so-subtle way:
“Donald Trump stands ready to tear apart an America that was built on values like decency, community, and concern for our neighbors,” Sen. Warren stated. “Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers — and Trump is a serious threat.”

“Let’s be honest – Donald Trump is a loser. Count all his failed businesses. See how he kept his father’s empire afloat by cheating people with scams like Trump University and by using strategic corporate bankruptcy (excuse me, bankruptcies) to skip out on debt. Listen to the experts who’ve concluded he’s so bad at business that he might have more money today if he’d put his entire inheritance into an index fund and just left it alone.
Trump seems to know he’s a loser. His embarrassing insecurities are on parade: petty bullying, attacks on women, cheap racism, and flagrant narcissism. But just because Trump is a loser everywhere else doesn’t mean he’ll lose this election. People have been underestimating his campaign for nearly a year – and it’s time to wake up.
People talk about how “this is the most important election” in our lifetime every four years, and it gets stale. But consider what hangs in the balance. Affordable college. Accountability for Wall Street. Healthcare for millions of Americans. The Supreme Court. Big corporations and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes. Expanded Social Security. Investments in infrastructure and medical research and jobs right here in America. The chance to turn our back on the ugliness of hatred, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The chance to be a better people.
More than anyone we’ve seen before come within reach of the presidency, Donald Trump stands ready to tear apart an America that was built on values like decency, community, and concern for our neighbors. Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers – and Trump is a serious threat. The way I see it, it’s our job to make sure he ends this campaign every bit the loser that he started it.”
