The range of emotions and intelligence exhibited by various species is worth noting, as it may eventually compel humanity to live more compassionately. For this reason, the following story is worth reading through and sharing.
Recently, a photo shared by a Reddit user went viral. Reportedly, the individuals and their cat, named Andrew, were sharing their last car ride ever together.
While the humans teared up and were, understandably, emotional about the ordeal, the cat exhibited an unearthly calmness and even reached out, it seemed, to comfort the ones who had cared for him.

“He held our hands on his last trip to the vet. Little Andrew was much stronger than his mom and I. He was 15 and a half and loved everyone, but just got old and sick over the last year. He purred everyday of his life and when he lost that, I knew it was time. Always sad to lose a friend.”
The Dodo summarizes it best by affirming that the grief of losing a pet can never outweigh the privilege of having known them. Fortunately, Andrew lived a wonderful life and was surrounded by those who adored him as he left this plane of existence.
