With recent leaks revealing Hillary’s problems relating to “everyday Americans”, her appeal to the people of a small Georgia town may have just gone down the drain. This past Tuesday, a Democratic National Committee tour bus was caught dumping significant amounts of human waste into a storm drain in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The dump occurred between campaign stops after the bus left a campaign stop close to the Board of Elections Office in Gwinnett County.
The incident was photographed by Mike Robins, the manager of a nearby business, who was angered by the DNC bus’s disregard for the town’s sanitation and the local environment. In the pictures taken by Robins, liquid can be seen coming from the bottom of the bus. Robins later called a hazardous materials crew, who responded to the location to attempt to collect as much of the waste as possible and to prevent any more of it from passing through the street’s storm drains.
Robins expressed his outrage:
“I don’t care who you are. I don’t care if you’re Hillary Clinton. I don’t care if you’re Donald Trump. I don’t care who you are, you don’t throw human waste down a storm drain. Wastewater just dumping all out in the street, poured out in the storm drain, and at this time I’ve got my cell phone out and I’m taking pictures because I don’t care who you are. That’s just wrong.”
It is illegal to dump human waste, as well as some industrial chemicals, into storm drains as they drain directly into rivers and streams. Local police are now investigating the incident as is Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division. Police said that, upon arriving at the scene, toilet paper was scattered along the roadway near the storm drain and there was a “foul smell” in the vicinity. The GA Environmental Protection Division said an investigator responded to the scene yesterday morning and will determine whether or not to issue penalties. The local news suggested that the charter company would likely receive any penalties issued, not the DNC.
The DNC issued the following statement about the incident:
“This was an honest mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused. We were unaware of any possible violations and have already taken corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from happening again. Furthermore, the DNC will work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, as well as local and state officials to determine the best course of corrective action.”
It remains to be seen if the DNC was as unaware of any potential wrongdoing as Hillary was about her private email server.
