This kitten wanted to say 'thank you' to his savior, so he gave him all the kisses.
It’s not often that motorists, whether they’re cyclists or not, spot an animal in need of help and are able to provide assistance immediately. It’s tough to even see an animal in your periphery when speeding down a highway, let alone stop nearby and safely retrieve the creature in need. Luckily for a small kitten in Brazil, he was one of the fortunate ones earlier this month after cyclist Viitor Fonseca saw him and picked him up while out on a ride.
Fonseca and a friend were out on a ride together when they came across the scrawny little tabby cat, who was so young that they knew he wouldn’t be able to fend for himself if they left him. Since cyclists travel with little to no baggage in order to achieve speed, Fonseca didn’t have anywhere to keep the kitten—so he carefully placed him in his shirt for the remainder of the ride.
Most cyclists also tend to go on very long rides when they decide to head out, so Fonseca was a little worried when he realized they still had several miles to go. All-in-all, the cyclist and kitten wound up traveling 6.2 miles together and a video reveals just how thankful the tiny kitten was to be rescued, even if he had to endure being put inside a shirt.
Fonseca took to Facebook to share the pair’s journey together and added as a comment:
“Saving a little life today,” he said. “I’m glad that he liked me and was not clawing me.
He posted a video of himself and the kitten during those last few moments, and the kitten can be seen dishing out endless kisses to Fonseca as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to his savior. As an added bonus, Fonseca was even able to find a home for the lost kitten, whose reason for being alone on the side of the road remains a mystery. He’s sure that the kitten will do great in his new home and that more play dates between the two will certainly happen in the future.
