Paralympic Champion and first double-legged amputee to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics, Oscar Pistorius shocked the world when he was arrested on murder charges following a fatal shooting at his home in Pretoria, South Africa in 2013.
The track star, also known as The Blade Runner, shot and killed his fiancée, model Reeva Steenkamp, claiming that he mistook her for an intruder. He was initially convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison for the lesser offense of culpable homicide, but on July of 2015, the Supreme Court of Appeals appealed the ruling, extending his sentence to 13 years and 5 months in prison.
