Businessman Spends $20K Feeding Troops A Hot Meal At Airport

When U.S. troops were transiting through the Shannon airport in Ireland mid-November, a businessman noticed they were chowing down on field rations and decided they deserved an upgraded meal.

Shlomo Rechnitz from California was traveling to Israel when he purchased each U.S. soldier – all 400 of them – an expensive dining experience at the airport.

Rechnitz asked their commander if he could treat them all to dinner at any of the airport’s trendy restaurants, reports GoodNewsNetwork. Of course, their commander said yes. Rechnitz, who owns a chain of nursing homes, told them to spend as much as $50 each and to put it on his credit card. That’s a total of $20,000!

When the commander asked what prompted his generosity, the kind-hearted philanthropist responded with this:

“You guys risk your lives to protect me and protect my family. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
