Bus Station Employees Do The Sweetest Thing After Seeing Cold Stray Dogs Outside

Most people want to help out their community in some way, but a lot of people can’t seem to find the time or the right way to go about doing it. The employees at a bus stop in Brazil felt the same way until they came across three local dogs who appeared to be cold as they scavenged outside, looking for food and shelter.

It’s unclear if the dogs have always been strays or if they were abandoned at some point, but one thing is certain: these dogs know love when they’ve found it. The employees recently allowed the dogs to come inside as the weather cools for the start of winter (Brazil is mostly in the southern hemisphere) and then took it a step further in their care for the dogs.

They roped off a small section for the dogs so that they can go undisturbed and even fashioned new beds for the trio using old tires. The three dogs, which are known as Max, Pitoco and Zoinho, love their new digs and have no idea that their shelter is unconventional because they’re too busy getting loved on by employees and passersby.

One recent passerby was local politician and animal lover Fabiane Rosa, who posted about the dogs and voiced her support for the station’s generosity and show of compassion, which went viral.

“These communal dogs have a much more dignified life than some who are victims of maltreatment and neglect, hidden behind the walls,” Rosa said in her post. “This world is not the privilege of humans, God created animals to teach us to love without conditions.”

She praised the station for their efforts to protect these dogs while so many more are abandoned or mistreated on the streets everyday, resulting in the injury and death of these strays. The station has provided a beacon of hope for these adorable dogs, and Rosa hopes that this act will encourage others to treat animals better in their daily lives.

In addition to the beds, the staff at the station also provide food and water that is brought in personally by the employees. These pups are accepted by the local community that uses the station regularly, and Rosa said that the station’s set-up could be used as a model for other businesses throughout the city.

“So many companies in Curitiba could follow this example, adopting a pet. Of course it is not the ideal, but at least there are those who are looking after them,” she said.

All of the photos were provided by Rosa on her Facebook, who posts photos several times a day of positive dog-related stories as well as pleas for help in locating a lost, abandoned, or injured dog. If you’d like to follow her on Facebook, you can do so here.
