Seven weeks ago, bride-to-be Jenna Yorkovich, realized that getting married wasn’t right for her – at least at this point in time. Because a reception to celebrate the planned nuptials was already planned, Yorkovich decided to donate the reception house to volunteers with Ronald McDonald House. The charity serves families with sick children getting treatment in the ICU.

Coincidentally, the reception fell on the exact same week for the Ronald McDonald house charity. 175 grateful volunteers showed up on Yorkovich’s planned wedding day and packed the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Other individuals that showed up were families that had helped the charity in the past.

Yorkovich told WCCO,

“I feel thankful. I feel loved. It’s really cool to see all the support. It was just making the best of the situation I was in. Looking at the positives and knowing I could help a bunch of other people and show the support to them.”

Jenna decided to donate the reception to the Ronald McDonald House because she works at Children’s Hospital and knows first-hand how beneficial the organization can be. Though the wedding was called off, a wonderful celebration was still held.
