BREAKING: Wikileaks’ Assange Offers Call To Action, Promises Leaks As Soon As Next Week

In a highly-anticipated announcement delivered early Wednesday morning, Julian Assange failed to deliver what many speculated would be a “final blow” to Hillary Clinton’s campaign for President. Though no new leaks were announced, Assange promised that all leaks related to the upcoming US Presidential Election would be released before voting begins on November 8th. Wikileaks is now expected to supply leaks once a week for the next 10 weeks on a variety of topics, not just the US election. Assange suggested that other leaks would shed light on 3 unnamed organizations with tremendous power internationally.

Previous speculation had suggested that Assange would expose a US “Deep State” or shadow government, and this announcement suggests that the leaks regarding these now-anonymous organizations may do just that. Other leaks will cover current wars, oil, Google, and mass surveillance. Assange’s statements regarding upcoming leaks were delivered via video link as Assange canceled his previously-planned, live appearance on the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London due to “security concerns.”

Assange and Wikileaks journalist Sarah Harrison refused to comment on the exact nature of the upcoming leaks, as procedure for the controversial media organization. They also refused to comment as to whether upcoming leaks regarding the US Election would involve Republicans, specifically Clinton’s opponent Donald Trump, though Assange stated that leaks will offer “fascinating angles” of the election. Despite the great interest in upcoming leaks, Assange sought to recruit people across the world to help the organization defend itself against massive, anticipated backlash and “attacks” from the establishment.

Assange said that Wikileaks needs to change in order to survive despite its growth in recent months and that help from supporters is crucial to the organization’s future survival. Assange’s announcement came at the end of a press conference in Berlin, Germany intended to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the organization’s founding. In only 10 years, Wikileaks has brought various scandals to light, including Guantanamo Bay, the contents of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), US killing of foreign civilians and journalists, and the rigging of the 2016 Democratic Primary. Wikileaks has also leaked sensitive documents of many other governments, including Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and Russia.

Though Wikileaks’ concern with shoring up support for its upcoming leaks is very understandable considering the great risks they take in publishing leaked documents, many were furious at the lackluster press conference. Some even claimed that Assange had “sold out to Hillary” despite the fact that Assange promised leaks would be forthcoming as soon as next week. Other disappointed viewers openly said they now wished for Assange’s assassination, following his failure to release damning evidence against Clinton. This is a truly disturbing display of partisanship and misdirected anger considering that upcoming leaks will be released in a matter of days.
