Born Elizabeth, He Wanted To Live As A Male Called Kai. His Parents Had Something To Say About That

Two awesome parents of a transgender man have placed a notice in their local newspaper to publish a correction to an announcement made 19 years ago:

“In 1995 we announced the birth of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad. We would like to present our wonderful son, Kai Bogert. Loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Go tidy your room.”

Yolanda Bogert and Guy Kershaw wanted to show their support for Kai, who had recently told them he wants to live as a man. The ad has gone viral on social media after it was printed in Tuesday´s edition of the Courier Mail, in Queensland Australia. Kai´s mum Yolanda said placing the ad seemed like a ´no-brainer´: “‘I needed to show my son I support him 100 per cent and wanted to let the world know that,” she told the local newspaper. “It is all very new to us. Kai just told me a few days ago that he no longer wanted to live as a girl.”

Ms Bogert said there was always “something different” about Kai, who was shocked about the announcement but says it is liberating. “This last week has changed everything for me. I am still me but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free,” Kai told The Courier Mail.
