Arnold Schwarzenegger Intends To Terminate The Illegal Ivory Trade

Hasta la vista, baby.

The illegal ivory trade has taken a toll on rhino and elephant populations. In fact, the issue of poaching is so severe, it is estimated that within ten years, the Africa Elephant will become extinct.

Fed up with the massive crisis being presented, governor, actor, and renowned bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has joined the Wildlife Conservation Society’s 96 Elephants campaign to end the ivory trade.

As One Earth reports, publicly destroying ivory stockpiles takes illegal trinkets and tusks off the market while sending traffickers an important message that governments all over the world want to demolish their trade.

In the video above, this is exactly what Schwarzenegger does after sending an intimidating message to all audiences.

Together, the United States, China, and six other countries have destroyed more than 42 tons of ivory this year. Who better to add to the destruction than the Terminator, himself?
