Anti-War Protests Finally Return To The US

anti-war-activistsThis weekend, a number of anti-war protests took place in different US cities, in opposition of the various wars that are being waged across the world.

These were some of the first major anti-war protests to take place in a number of years. The anti-war movement in the US was more or less killed by Obama and the Democrats taking power.

In Los Angeles and Washington DC, crowds of hundreds took to the streets with signs calling attention to the US government’s horrific foreign policy. In the Washington DC protests, activists placed a drone sculpture with the words “killer” in front of the gates of the White House.

These protests come at a dismal time, when war seems to be more popular than ever in the US empire. A recent poll found that Americans have become highly militaristic, with a surprisingly large number of people polled supporting military action overseas. Many of these people have been conned into the concept of humanitarian wars.
