RIP Alan Rickman. No doubt, as True Activist reported shortly after news of the actor’s passing was announced, Rickman will be missed. But, the talented actor will always be remembered through the captivating films he starred in.
Speaking of film… Did you know that one of Rickman’s last roles was a voice-over for a video of a tortoise eating a strawberry?
One of the actor’s final contributions was to assist a group of Oxford students collaborating to raise funds for children affected by the Syrian crisis.
Students of the university created the ad (above) which will generate ad revenue each time it is played. The proceeds will then be donated to refugee relief groups Save the Children and Refugee Council.
His voice-over – albeit brief – may just help save the lives of refugees.
Reportedly, Rickman agreed to voice it with the idea that his celebrity status could help it go viral and raise even more money. Likely because he passed away shortly after the ad was released, it has received more than three million views on YouTube.
This was one of his last roles, but fans of Rickman can still look forward to seeing him on the big screen. Alan, who is best known for his role as Professor Snape in the blockbuster Harry Potter series, appeared in at least two movies before his passing on January 14th at the age of 69: “Eye in the Sky” and “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.
