After His Owner Died, Dog Waited For A Year Hoping He’d Return. Now He Has A 2nd Chance

The story of Woody, a senior poodle, is a tale we hear all too often in rescue (but is rarely talked about). When Woody’s owner died, the family sold the house and chose not to take care of Woody… Instead they left him outside on the doorstep to fend for himself. Woody didn’t understand what was happening, so he waited there hoping his owner would return… for more than a year.

They loyalty of a dog is one of the greatest gifts a human can know, but a curse for a dog if it is not honored.

Sadly, we see this all the time in rescue: Pet owners dying and failing to include their pet(s) in their Will or Living Trust. They just expect or hope that their family will take care of them.

We hope that loving pet owners will watch this video, take action and make the necessary arrangements to ensure their pets have a loving place to go – in the event they pass away.

When Eldad rescued Woody, his spirit was completely shattered. But with a little time and love, Woody learned to love again. And now he needs a loving forever home
