Source: True Activist

It has become the norm as of late to hate on this new generation of Instagram influencers because the public is just so sick of their pretentious posts – that they have no shame but to call them out at every opportunity they see fit. From disrespectful posing at the Auschwitz Museum to photoshopping photos and pretending to be elsewhere, these characteristics of a blatant narcissistic generation really goes out of their way to advertise stupidity and ridiculousness just for a couple of extra likes.

At least their followers don’t back down on calling them out on their absurd behavior, but the ongoing trend of shaming these influencers might have gone out of control that these public comments are already having a negative effect.

Here are eight influencers that have gone way over the top and the people decided that enough is enough with the amount of self-obsession they have just to capture a good photo.

Are you influenced by the overly staged photos that you see? Are you swayed to lead another life when you see all their travels? When is it time to say that risks you take just for a ‘cool’ photo has gone too far?

With all the editing tools and filters that are available at this day and age, most Instagram photos are already edited so far from reality. For some influencers though, they even took it to the next level and resorted to photoshopping themselves to show their followers a completely false part of their lives.

Johann Olsson, a Swedish influencer was caught deceiving her followers that she was on a trip to Paris, which she has told everyone, she really went! She was caught photoshopping herself to different backdrops of Paris.

“I wanted to talk a little bit about the pictures I posted in Paris. So, I did one picture, shot it and didn’t think it looked that nice… so I took a different background and put the background into it.”

“And when I put it up nobody noticed so I thought, this is good. So I admit it wasn’t my finest Photoshop skills. Now in Sweden this thing has gone crazy and TV shows want me to come on and talk about my ‘fake travelling’.”

“It’s a bit ridiculous I think. There are a lot of influencers out there that use Photoshop in birds, rainbows or crazy skies and I could do that but I don’t like that. I just wanted to make that clear that I was in Paris, but I did Photoshop the background, but I’m not going to take them down because it’s a collaboration and they’re nice pictures – it’s a good outfit!” She spoke to her followers through her Instagram stories.

A couple took a photo of themselves hanging off the trains in Sri Lanka, and now all these Westerners are trying to capture the exact shot by filling up these trains with people dangerously hanging out of it at different times.

Influencer couple from Belgium, Camille and Jean who have the Instagram handle @backpackdiariez just had to up the stakes for an ever more dangerous photo knowing that people will end up copying these ridiculous poses. What the Sri Lankan locals think every time Westerners stick their heads out and hang off a train while trying to capture that ‘perfect photo’ must be really hilarious.

Natalie Schalter has 652 posts and 12K followers on her Instagram, but that didn’t stop the people from giving her heat when they saw this insensitive photo in their feed.

Schlater was posing in a bikini, which is like most of her other uploads, but this caption angered her fans, and for good reason. “Thinking about how different my life is from the man picking in the rice field every morning,” it said.

People immediately began to call her out by saying she was such a shallow and entitled person, but the influencer just coughed it up to a big misunderstanding.

4. Another incredibly dangerous kiss that their followers would surely try to copy sometime.

Kelly and Kody, the couple behind Instagram handle @positravelty are known ‘adventurers’ who go around the world looking for the next photo location and share their images online. One photo shows the couple kissing while Kelly hangs over an infinity pool and her very fit boyfriend shows his strength while carrying her. The problem with these risk-taking shots is that the next couple trying to do this might lead to an accident for nothing.

People visit these memorial sites to remind us of the horrors of history so as not for it to be repeated. They are somber places of reflection, introspection and realization.

However, they are not places for you to show your followers ‘cool’ photos by proving to them your narcissistic and disrespectful attitude to all the grave memories that happened in that location, along with the millions of people that were affected by this tragedy.

Someone called this woman out on the subreddit  for doing a yoga pose in the Holocaust Memorial.

6. The HBO ‘Chernobyl’ himself called out these influencers after seeing these photos.

When people go and visit the Auschwitz Museum to pay their respects and learn about the atrocious history of human barbarism that occurred there, they leave deeply affected and changed, and use their newfound knowledge and empathy to become a better person.

Influencer and model Sarah McDaniel started claiming that she had Heterochromia, which is a condition wherein the colors of the iris are different. An infamous exposer, Celebface called out this model who uploaded a childhood photo of her showing her matching brown eyes.

Celeface wrote:
“Expectation: A poor girl with different-colored eyes.”
“Reality: An ordinary liar who had eye color surgery and tells everyone about her ‘real’ heterochromia now.”

The best part is that McDaniel’s estranged father even confirmed the lie when he made a comment in one of her Instagram posts.
