Questioning Reeves

Investigators were able to reopen the case and decided to question Reeves about the night in question. He decided to hire defense lawyer, Attorney Lee Davis, and given the evidence against him, he would end up claiming that he had acted in self defense, but this seemed highly implausible due to the gravity of the attack. The truth would prevail and Reeves would share that the two men had met for consensual sex, but it turned ugly when he got upset at Layne and ended up killing him. But due to the statue of limitations, he was able to get a plea deal, pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and getting just six years in jail. And while the years he may spend in jail may not feel like they were enough, at least Layne’s family was able to find peace in knowing who was at fault.
