Jill and Mike

In her high school year at Stover, she met Stover High basketball and baseball star Mike Wells. Although he was popular with the girls, his heart belonged to Jill. They ended up dating, but only for a while, because they soon realized that they were heading in different directions after graduation.

A passion for helping people

As a kind-hearted individual who grew up in a devoutly religious family, she had a passion for helping people, which motivated her to finish a nursing degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Later in 1987, she moved to Colorado Springs to take a job at a hospital.
