9. Don’t Get Scammed
Guatemala, being bordered by so many countries surrounding it, can be quite a challenge to enter or leave, especially if you don’t speak the native tongue. Many tourists make the mistake of getting someone from the border to handle their affairs. Before they know it, they are taken advantage of and overcharged, something that could ruin a great holiday especially if you’re travelling on a tight budget.
Always listen to the official border guards since they can tell you exactly what you need to know.
